Our Best Holiday Hacks
Our inspiration comes from a pre-Thanksgiving New York Times post. The idea was to label your platters with post-it notes so you don’t have to think about which food item goes in what platter. This tip can be used for any holiday! We hope you enjoy the many tips and tricks that we gathered from our sales team to make your holiday entertaining season a bit easier.
GIFT GIVING
Easy adult gift giving: use a "Kris Kringle" format - draw names in advance where each person needs to only purchase 1 special gift. Having a limit/budget can also enhance creativity!
Hard to buy for parents or grandparents? A subscription to Netflix or other streaming service complete with set up for their easy use, as well as lottery scratch offs.
HOSTING
Many hands make light work and help hosts relax. Write simple tasks on the back of place cards, keep it light and fun. Like "man the ice bucket" or "be a hero, help put out desserts."
Remind guests to bring their own take-away containers, encouraging them to fill up before you put the food away.
DÉCOR
Use the cardboard cores from wrapping paper to roll up light strands or garland to keep it neat for next year. Cut a slit at each end of the core and put the ends of the lights or garland through the slit so they don't shift when being stored or moved. Your 2022 self with thank you.
Our biggest secret weapon – command strips, zip ties and finishing wire. Whether you're decorating your mantel, staircase or porch, these tools help us get that perfect look without damaging our permanent décor or newly painted walls. You can even swap out frames on a gallery wall without permanent nail pops.
It goes without saying that our best and biggest tip for the season (or any season!) is to protect your fine furnishings and enjoy your home to the fullest. Before the guests arrive, make sure you have your at-home care kit ready to blot away and treat minor mishaps at the moment.
We hope the memories you make this holiday season keep you warm all winter.
